Trebek's Heart Attack......

Looks like he had one. Apparently, he's ok.....for now.

We have our first show this Saturday at the Pegasus Lounge. No, it's not one of those fruity bars. There are 7 bands playing, so it's not that high profile. We're second to last, which is pretty great seeming as though we haven't played a show at all yet. No real pressure to find a band name really.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. We'll find something. Although, Slick McBig is a pretty good one.

See you all soon. I'm gonna be in IN from 12/20 through 1/2. I'll be in Indy for the first few days & then to Kokomo. Spending NYE in Chicago too!

Bandness........

The Tar! Deep Debacle! Those I like!

Here's some of my favorites:

Unbury
Random Candies
Goodbye Head
Greasy Clean
Deep Debacle
Future Nostalgia (funny though)
Bacon Plow (very funny)
Pengolin
Bearshark

What do you think?

Please keep 'em coming if you think that this is fun. You could really end up naming my band. I believe that we have an opening slot scheduled for the 15th. Don't know much about it yet though. I'll try to get it on my camera>then to DVD for ya's.

Things are good here though. Weather is great finally! Been going to some Tampa Bay Lightning (hockey) games lately. That's so much fun! I recommend that you all go to a Indy Ice game. Cheap tickets too. Either sit close enough to bang on the glass OR sit up in the nosebleeds where you can see the whole rink. Don't forget your glasses though.

Bandidge.............

Smokeable Tree? Won't Kill You? Barbie's Abortion? Those are really good! Just too funny though.

Abel Cape, Muser & Persuasive Rail are all pretty good. Thanks! Coming up with band names is always fun anyway! KEEP THEM COMING!!!!

Some of my favorite band names out there are Cowboy Mouth, Sunny Day Real Estate, Ween, DeerHoof, Fugazi, Flaming Lips, Government Mule, My Morning Jacket & Nervous Turkey. Nervous Turkey is a friend's band. They had to come up with a name just B4 Thanksgiving last year.

Just had another practice last night. Reviewed what we had & sounded great, so we moved on. Lead vocalist, Nick, presented a verse/chorus that he had. Everyone communicated & proposed ideas for the song without egos getting in the way. All contributed because it wasn't completely written. Anyway, it ended up sounding great! Now we have 4 originals.

So we might start looking for some open mic's or opening slots once we get a GOOD 7 songs.

KEEP THE NAMES COMING!

Middle-Aged

Right, I am now in the sort of middle-aged category. Thank you for the birthday wishes. It's 12:26AM & my birthday is now over.

So we've practiced 3 times now & so far, so good. I have 3 of their original songs down now. Their former name is "dsc project", but they (thankfully) want to change it. The other names that they were tossing around sucked, so try to come up with a swell name for a ROCK band. Really. Not too many joke responses though. I want to toss a few at them before they settle on some totally lame name. It's kind of hard to shoot down a potential band name if you're the new guy.

Got it!

Well, I passed the audition last night & we're practicing again tonight at 7:30.....EST. They sound a lot like an up-beat version of Queens of the Stoneage. Throw a dash of Umphrey's McGee (my favorite band) and some old Metallica. I have two original songs that I've been listening to all day. Tonight, I want to nail them both. It might be pretty hard since there are a lot of sections to these two songs.

FINALLY, A GOOD PROJECT!!!!!!

Well then...........

Well then.........

I've been busy since my last entry. Let me tell ya....

Last weekend was the Cearwater Jazz Fest & it's a free event every year. I went with my good heterosexual buddy, Bill. "Biiiiillllll!" Anyway this band, Medeski Martin & Wood, was the headliner. Their style is a sort of funky-free jazz & the kids like it. I've seen them about 5 times now. So all of the old folks were set in the lawn after a day of cool & hip jazz when the hippies moved in for the final act, MMW. They were yelling at us, "Sit Down" but we just yelled back "Stand Up". Anyway the show was great and free.

Went to the Jacksonville/Indy game the other Monday night. The fans were complete dicks. Pardon my colorful language. If I were a lesser man, I would have committed two or more assaults just getting into the game. Really, they threw ice & were yelling personal remarks. GLAD WE WON THOUGH! Maybe they were yelling because we were wearing Colts jerseys & face paint, but I don't really know. LOL.

OK, I'm auditioning for a band in the next few days. I've been waiting for a good project to join & this looks pretty good. You should hear most of the bands that contact me....whew! Here's the link to the band. What do YOU think?

I noticed Rosie's comment on Thanksgiving churizzo dish from my last post. I have a suggestion for a recipe. I left the recipe in a comment under yours, Rosie. I always talk to this chef every time I go to this restaurant & he told me how to make this dish. If anyone wants to try it, let me know. It is SO GOOD.

Finally, I will be in IN from 12/20 through 1/2!!!!! See you then. Love you all & I'll miss you on Thanksgiving!

Presentate.....

I heard another great one yesterday. "Presentate" As in "Let me presentate a nice entree for your mom."

So I just booked my X-mas trip info. I'm going to be there for a while. December 20th through January 2nd.

I might be going to Chicago for a string of concerts from 29th through NYE. My FAVORITE band, Umphrey's McGee is playing their annual NYE show at the Aragon Ballroom all three nights. The Wailers (Bob Marley's band) are opening up one night. Then Tortoise is opening the other two nights. Allison, you & Ryan should grab a couple of tix & go with me. I already have a few friends going because it's usually their best show of the whole year.

On a personal note: Always have an extra toothbrush ready to open up and use. I dropped mine in a corner the other night, and boy, was I happy that I had another one ready to go.

Pre? Plan?..........

I've been hearing a particular word that really annoys me. I don't believe it's correct. The word is "pre-plan". Pre (loosely) means before. Plan is something that you do before-hand as well. So do people mean that they plan to plan?

Another is "conversate". People converse with eachother.

Argh!!!!!

Guess that's just the journalism geek coming out in me. Has anyone else noticed a spike in these words?

Alright...........

Sorry it's been so long.

Those chicken pot pies that I was refering to were Marie Callender's. GREAT! Sarah......oh Sarah......they are SO MUCH BETTER in the OVEN! It takes a lot of time though & I know you're busy, but MAN, they're good that way.

The bowling team finished in second place, so we each took home $75. I was fine with that, but one guy on our team of four was royally pissed. He got way too much into it.

My team consisted of two girls & two guys. Meghann is one of my old friends. Erin one of her friends & JC is the psycho bowler.

JC completely gets into it, right. He has the metal/cloth, wrist support thing....not to mention his ball/bag/shoe combo. JC will give you a high five when he has a good roll, but when he has a spare or worse, he won't do that. We have to resort to the fist pound instead. He never failed. I went in for a five when he picked up a spare, but I just got a fist in my palm. Also, yes, he will five me when I throw up a fist pound after a his strike.

Meghann & JC actually started to date during this summer of bowling. I don't really hang out with Meghann much now because of him. His nerves completely got to him in the championship when I was across the table swilling brew. That sort of competitive attitude ruins the whole thing for me. By the way, I bowled about 20 pins over my average....while RELAXING and swilling brews.

I'm glad it's over.

Now, I'm back into the groove after my amazing vacation. It was great. I believe that I've updated most of you on that. Burning Man was crazy & I'm not quite sure if I'm going again. The whole thing was like being in a Mad Max movie.

Just bought a djembe drum today! The djembe drum is an hourglass-shaped drum. These are the most versitile-sounding hand drums out there. You can hit the rim & get a high pitch. But when you hit it in the middle, you get a deep tone. It's 14" wide, so she's pretty big. It takes up too much room in my shoebox/apartment, but we'll make room for her. Anyone got any names for her? EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A HAND DRUM. You can beat the crap out of it.

Love y'all....if you're in my family.....but I guess I love everyone else reading too.....I mean even if you're a stranger.

So.............

So my bowling team just tied for first place tonight at the season's conclusion. Everyone wanted to have a bowl-off next week at the same time, but there was one freakin' person who screwed it all up...............me. I'm going to be in Kokomo, so we're having a bowl-off after 9/10. That's when I return from my fantastic California/Indiana vacation. The winning team gets $500. I could sure use that cheddar.

Anyway, I leave this Thursday for those concerned. Flying to Indy the following Thursday & going to the Colts/Saints with my bro, Bert. Planning on hanging with Mom & the fam on Friday afternoon/evening. Probably at mom's house. I'm determined, as always, to gorge myself on Pizza King AND Lord John's Tacos while I'm there.

Can't wait to see California & my family. I'll post again when I return to Tampa.

Toodles.

Adrian Belew Show (Did Not Buh-Low)

The Adrian Belew Trio that we saw last night was outstanding. Bass player was great & she's freakin' hot too. The drummer was 20 & he was VERY good. Here's a link.

OK......

Ali, yes, the guy(s) fit in the commode. Another happy customer.

The drummer/actor position was filled already.

I'm going to see Adrian Belew tonight in St. Pete. He was the front man for King Crimson. Apparently, he's touring with his young bro & sis. They're about 20 & 22. I hear they both play pretty well (drums & bass). Should be fun.

OK........

So I'm having a great month at work. Selling 5 power wheelchairs so far this month! Weeew Heeeew! I also sold a commode yesterday......not before talking to this guy for about 10 minutes about wether or not his junk would fit in there while sitting down. That's great too.

Hey, does everyone LOVE chipotle? I can't stand that crap. It offends my pallet. WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE CHIPOTLE NOW-A-DAYS? Argh!

I have been in contact with some folks making a "indy" (as they say) movie here in Tampa. I actually responded to an ad looking for a drummer/actor in Tampa. The lead role is a drummer. Thinking about auditioning, but not sure. It'll take a lot of memory. Not sure if there's enough room left over in my brain for that.

Good Luck Everyone,
Bitzky.

OK.....

Well here's the blog. Rabble Rabble Rabble! I'll try it out for a while. I mostly did this to keep in touch with many of my family members. Hey fam, do you all have public blogs or private blogs? I believe that I'll make mine public. I mean it's like totally whatever, you know. Totally whatever.

So..............

I have this band whose CD I've been revisiting this month. Their name is Pizzicato Five & they're from Japan. It's Burt Bacarack meets DEVO meets The Carpenters with female lead singer in (mostly) Japanese. There is some English. I like the album "Sister Freedom Tapes".

Man, you all should see my fridge right now. I have the best drink selection, you don't even want to compete widis:

20 Cokes, 23 Mtn Dews, Quart of 100% squeezed OJ, Gallon of milk, half gallon of V8 Splash, 4 Vanilla Frappacino's, half gallon of Hawaiian Punch, 2 cans of Tecate (beer), 1 can of lemon/lime soda, 4 Bell's Amber Ale, 1 Bell's Oberon Ale and almost a gallon of apple cider.

I recommend that someone comes down here in the fall. I will be harvesting all of the oranges then & squeezing juice. The weather is great then + the water is still warm.

OK, that's it. Goodnight.
